Whole self-catering houses for working crews in Peterborough, from £24 per person per night with all bills included.
If you are housing a crew on the Station Quarter, at Great Haddon or on the Anglian Water programme, and the hotel quotes have come back as six separate room rates plus a parking charge per van, this page gives you the real numbers.
Written for the person doing the booking — site manager, site agent, project manager, operations lead, or the office manager it landed on.
The honest framing: Peterborough has cheap budget hotel supply, and two of those hotels have free car parks. For one person on a two-night stay a Travelodge will beat us and you should book it. Where we win is a crew of four or more who need a kitchen, a washing machine, somewhere to dry wet kit and one invoice at the end of the month. Below: the rate, what is in it, which schemes are genuinely on site in 2026, and measured drive times from a central Peterborough base.
How much is contractor accommodation in Peterborough?
£24 to £34 per person per night, all in. That is a whole self-catering house for the crew, with gas, electricity, water, council tax, broadband, linen and off-street parking where the property has it. Peterborough has cheap hotel supply and free parking at the edge-of-city hotels, so we publish no blanket percentage saving — the case is total crew cost, not headline room rate. The table below sets out the bands by property size.
We come back the same working day with what we can source in Peterborough for your dates, at a fixed quote — or tell you straight if we cannot cover it. From £24 per person per night, all bills included, £200 refundable deposit. Send the dates even if the job is not signed off; we will hold a quote so you can put a real number in the tender.
Or ring 0113 479 0251 — we answer during working hoursContractor accommodation is budgeted per person per night, so that is how we quote it. Every figure below assumes separate beds — never a sofa bed, never two people in a room who did not ask to share.
| Property type | Sleeps, separate beds | From, per person per night |
|---|---|---|
| Whole house, 2 bed Or a self-contained 2-bed flat | 4 | £34 |
| Whole house, 3 bed The most common crew size we place | 6 | £29 |
| Whole house, 4 bed Usually two bathrooms — confirmed per property | 8 | £26 |
| Whole house, 5 bed Larger crews, or two houses close together | 10 | £24 |
The rate falls as the house gets bigger because the bills, the clean and the management are spread across more people. Longer bookings come down again — a four-week job prices lower per night than a four-night one. Send the dates and we will quote the actual figure.
Peterborough is a sourcing city for Stayful today. We do not currently hold our own bookable stock here, so this range is market-derived and sourced to brief rather than read off our own booking system. It is what we can genuinely source a crew-ready whole house at in Peterborough on current market terms, fulfilled through our own portfolio where it reaches and through partner operators where it does not. That is why there is no whole-property column on this table and no property count on this page — we will not print a number we cannot stand behind. You get a fixed, real figure at quote, before you commit to anything.
The reason a per-head figure beats a room rate is that nothing gets added to it afterwards. When we say all bills included, that is the whole list, not the headline ones.
Van parking is the one to raise at enquiry. Peterborough has plenty of housing stock with off-street space, but what is free on your dates depends on the dates, and we will not claim a specific Peterborough property has van space until we have checked it for you.
The whole property goes to your crew and nobody else has access for the duration.
Teams of two to twenty. Beyond about ten you are usually looking at two houses within a few minutes of each other, which we book, manage and invoice as one job.
Separate beds for every person as standard. No room sharing, ever — that is a commitment rather than an aspiration, and it is why we quote on separate-bed occupancy rather than the headline "sleeps" figure.
Crews change shape mid-job and that is normal. Somebody rotating off and a replacement joining next week does not mean rebooking from scratch — we update the names and it is done in hours.
Phased arrivals work the same way: start with four, add capacity as the programme ramps up, release properties as phases complete.
If you are running Peterborough alongside Bedford, Milton Keynes, Nottingham or Norwich, that is one point of contact and one invoice across all of them, not four separate accounts.
More people search Peterborough for site accommodation and site cabins than you would expect, and they mean different things by it. It is worth being explicit about all three.
This is not on-site accommodation or site cabins. If you are looking for welfare units, portable cabins or modular sleeping accommodation to put inside the hoarding on a Peterborough site, that is a plant hire question and we are not the answer. What we provide is ordinary residential housing off site, typically within fifteen minutes of the job, with a front door onto a street rather than a compound gate.
The distinction matters commercially as well as practically. Off-site housing does not depend on the principal contractor's welfare provision, does not need space inside the hoarding, does not need a crane to place, and comes out of a different budget line. It also means the crew leaves the site at the end of a shift, which is most of the point.
This is not a shared HMO with other people's tenants. Some contractors have rented a room in a house full of strangers and had a bad experience of it — a kitchen shared with people on other shifts, a bathroom queue, kit going missing. The whole property is booked exclusively for your crew and nobody else holds a key during your stay.
This is not a hotel block either. There is no reception, no breakfast window and no daily housekeeping — and equally no restriction on cooking a proper meal after a ten-hour shift, and no charge per van per night.
One note on wording. This page is the answer for contractor accommodation Peterborough and for contractors accommodation Peterborough — singular and plural get used interchangeably on site and they mean the same thing here. The same goes for worker accommodation Peterborough, which is the second most common way this gets searched locally, and for self-catering, short stay, short term let, corporate and business accommodation. Different words, one requirement: a decent house, near the job, with everything switched on.
Four schemes are genuinely on the ground with named contractors. Two of the headline names usually attached to Peterborough are not, and one of them has had its planning consent withdrawn. We would rather say which is which than pad the list.
The £65m regeneration of the station and its surroundings, with £47.8m of government funding unlocked after Full Business Case approval in May 2025.
Phase one is City Link, the new pedestrian and cycle route between the station and Cowgate, which fills in the Priestgate subways and reshapes the Queensgate roundabout. Preliminary clearance ran in November 2025 and main works started before the end of March 2026. M Group has its construction compound in the station car park, and the works are visibly live: the main car park lost 111 spaces from the end of June 2026 and the Queensgate roundabout closed overnight in August 2026 for traffic management changes.
Phase two is the bigger prize for crew demand — the station building reconfigured, a new western entrance, a multi-storey car park, and land released for up to 700 homes and 4,000 jobs.
A strategic urban extension of roughly 5,000 homes on the southern edge of Peterborough, in an eleven-year programme with four schools and around 9,000 jobs attached.
Vistry is delivering through its Bovis and Linden brands across Fletton Folly, Haddon Peake, Haddon Green and Haddon Cross, with Sage, Jensco and Cross Keys Homes as partners. Work started on two further phases totalling 207 homes in March 2026, and Great Haddon East, a 289-home joint venture with Countryside and Kier, is commencing this year. Great Haddon Primary School broke ground in January 2026 for a January 2027 opening; the secondary school follows in summer 2027.
That is a decade of groundworks, housebuilding, highways, utilities and fit-out packages thirteen minutes from the city centre.
Anglian Water is headquartered in Peterborough and is running an £11bn AMP8 business plan, the largest in its history. The @one Alliance — Anglian Water with Balfour Beatty, Barhale, Binnies, Mott MacDonald Bentley, MWH Treatment, Skanska and Sweco — is delivering around £3bn of that across some 800 schemes between 2025 and 2030.
Flag Fen Water Recycling Centre in Peterborough is named specifically as one of the major upgrades inside the £750m Place-Based programme. Year two of the plan is a £1.6bn spend, and more than 850 capital schemes have already broken ground since April 2025.
Water and water recycling work is the steadiest crew demand in this part of the country because AMP cycles run five years, not five months. Crews mobilising to Anglian schemes across East Anglia frequently base in Peterborough because the Alliance does.
A New Hospital Programme scheme to replace the RAAC-affected hospital, budgeted between £500m and £1bn, with the new hospital due around 2032.
It is live now rather than in prospect. GRAHAM Construction is delivering an early works package, Kier has been provisionally appointed main contractor, and Zed Pods is building replacement staff accommodation on site. Albert House and St Nicholas House came down between June and July 2026, Victoria House follows later this year and Alexandra House in 2027, with the main build from 2028.
Huntingdon is twenty-nine minutes from central Peterborough. That is a workable daily commute, and Peterborough has considerably more housing stock than Huntingdon does.
Perkins Engines, a Caterpillar subsidiary, runs a 125,000 square metre plant in Peterborough plus the European research and development centre with twenty test cells, and was actively recruiting through 2026. Anglian Water's own operations, IKEA and Amazon distribution, McCain, and the Fengate and Eastern Industry estates sit alongside it.
These are running operations, not construction sites. The crew demand they generate is real but it is a different shape: retool and line changes, mechanical and electrical packages, fit-out, racking, planned shutdowns and turnarounds. We would rather describe that accurately than count a working factory as a building site.
The pattern we see most in Peterborough is not the headline scheme — it is a shutdown or an M&E package won on a Friday at Perkins or on the Fengate estates, with six people needing a base by Monday morning and vans full of tools that cannot sit on a public road overnight. Send the site postcode and the headcount and you will have a fixed quote the same working day.
A47 Wansford to Sutton dualling is cancelled. It was consented in February 2023, but funding was withdrawn in the 2025 Spending Review and in February 2026 the Department for Transport stated it was minded to revoke the development consent order altogether. Nothing is being built and, as things stand, nothing will be. The A47 schemes still running — North Tuddenham to Easton, Blofield to North Burlingham, Thickthorn — are all in Norfolk. Guyhirn is complete.
ARU Peterborough is finished. All three phases are built: University House in 2022, the Innovation and Research Centre in 2023, and the Living Lab delivered by Morgan Sindall for the September 2024 intake. Further phases are an ambition with no scheme, no date and no contractor.
You will see Fletton Quays and North Westgate listed as live construction on other contractor accommodation sites. We could not verify either as an active 2026 site with a named contractor, so we have left both off rather than repeat somebody else's copy.
Every drive time below is routed from a named central Peterborough postcode, not estimated. Sites are shown by what they actually are: building now, an operating employer, or a hospital.
Every figure below is routed from PE1 1XH in central Peterborough. We do not hold our own stock in the city, so rather than route from a property we do not have, we have used a named central postcode and are telling you that is what we did.
Times are free-flowing and will stretch at shift change; treat them as the floor rather than the promise.

The useful thing about Peterborough is how much sits inside seven minutes of one central base: the station and the Station Quarter works, the Fengate and Eastern Industry estates, Flag Fen, Perkins and the City Hospital. A crew working two of those in the same week does not need to move.
Peterborough City Hospital is seven minutes from a central base and Stamford and Rutland is twenty-one. Both are workable, and so is Hinchingbrooke at twenty-nine minutes — long enough to notice, short enough to do twice a day.
Be straight about the other two. Kettering General at forty-seven minutes and the Queen Elizabeth at King's Lynn at fifty-three are not sensible daily commutes from Peterborough. Ninety to a hundred minutes a day on top of a shift is how people burn out and hand back contracts. If you are placing staff at either, base them closer and ask us about it — we would rather say so than sell you a bed in the wrong city.
Two rows on this card go to the hotel and one is a genuine draw. We would rather you saw that than a card where we win everything.
Peterborough is not Oxford, where hotel parking wins the argument on its own. It splits. Premier Inn Peterborough City Centre charges £17 a night for parking, £15 with the guest code, and Travelodge Peterborough Central has no car park at all — you pay and display nearby, charged around the clock. But the Ferry Meadows and Hampton Premier Inns both have free on-site parking, so if your crew is happy on the edge of the city, parking costs a hotel guest nothing.
So we call parking a draw, and we would rather do that than dress it up. Where the arithmetic does turn is the kitchen and the laundry over a four-week job: six people eating out every night is the line that moves a project budget, not the room rate.
Two things to watch on dates. Peterborough United home fixtures tighten city-centre supply, and the East of England Arena and Showground fills the whole city for its larger events — Truckfest weekends in particular. If your programme lands on one, tell us early.
Extensions. A four-week job becoming six is the most common thing that happens to a booking. Tell us as early as you can and we will extend the same house for the same crew wherever availability allows — same property, same keys, no rebooking from scratch. We cannot guarantee a specific property indefinitely, and if it is genuinely let after your dates we will say so early enough for you to plan rather than at the last minute.
Cancellation. Stated plainly at the point of quote, in writing, before you pay anything. We do not run a policy you have to find in small print. Worth knowing honestly: a hotel on a flexible rate will beat us on same-day cancellation, and if your dates are genuinely uncertain that is a fair reason to book one.
Deposit. £200, fully refundable after the stay.
Check-in and check-out. Self check-in from 3pm, out by 11am.
Invoicing. One invoice for the whole crew, matched to your PO number, 30-day terms for approved accounts. If you are running Peterborough alongside other sites, it is still one invoice.
Stayful manages around 70 properties across 45+ areas of England and has hosted more than 10,000 nights. Co-founded by Zac Harrison and Martyn Butler. In cities where we hold our own stock you deal with the people who manage the building. Peterborough is a sourcing city for us today — you deal with the same team here, and we deal with the operator on your behalf. One number, one email, one person who knows your job. That is a different proposition from a listings site, and we would rather you knew which one you were getting.
4.6 out of 5 from 21 Google reviews. That is the company-level rating from our Google Business Profile and it is the figure our schema publishes.
Separately, guests rate individual categories across the portfolio on Airbnb, over more than 10,000 nights hosted:
Airbnb guest category scores across the Stayful portfolio, August 2026. These are category scores, not an overall company rating, and we do not present them as one.
Read the communication score as operational reliability rather than hospitality. It is 4.9 because things do occasionally go wrong on a booking and we sort them quickly — which is the thing that matters when a boiler fails at 6am and six people need to be on site by seven.
Off-street space for two vans. A ground-floor bedroom. Pet friendly. Individual rooms with no sharing. Monday-to-Friday only. EV charging. A dining table the whole crew can sit round. We have properties across the portfolio and the sourcing network that cover all of these — but what is available in Peterborough on your dates depends on the dates. Send the requirements and we will tell you exactly what we can do, or tell you honestly if we cannot. With a network this size there is usually more than one way to make a set of dates work, including splitting a larger crew across two nearby houses rather than turning the job away.
Off-street parking comes with most of the houses we source in Peterborough, and the number of spaces is stated per property before you commit. Van space specifically depends on the property and the dates, so we confirm it at quote rather than claim it here. Tell us how many vans and whether they are liveried or carrying tools overnight — it changes which properties we put forward.
Gas, electricity, water, council tax, broadband, hotel-quality linen and towels, a fully equipped self-catering kitchen, a washing machine, and off-street parking where the property has it. Self check-in from 3pm.
Not included: food, and a £200 damage deposit that is fully refundable after the stay. There is no daily housekeeping — these are houses, not hotel rooms.
For one person on a short stay, no. Peterborough has cheap budget hotels and the Ferry Meadows and Hampton Premier Inns have free parking, so a hotel will beat us and you should book one.
For a crew of four or more on a job of a week or longer it turns, because you get a kitchen instead of eating out, a washing machine instead of a launderette, one invoice instead of six, and the crew in one building. We publish no blanket percentage because in this city it would not survive checking.
From £24 to £34 per person per night, all bills included, based on separate beds rather than a headline sleeps figure. A five-bedroom house for a crew of ten sits at the bottom of that range; a two-bedroom flat for four sits at the top.
That range is market-derived and sourced to brief — Peterborough is a sourcing city for us rather than one where we hold our own stock, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise.
Yes, and it is common here. Plenty of crews on the Station Quarter and at Great Haddon go home at weekends. Tell us it is a Monday-to-Friday pattern at enquiry, because it changes which properties are worth putting forward and it usually improves the rate over a long booking.
Neither. If you need welfare units or portable cabins inside the hoarding, that is plant hire and we are not the answer.
What we provide is ordinary residential houses off site, usually within fifteen minutes of the job, with a front door onto a street. It does not depend on the principal contractor's welfare provision, needs no space on site, and the crew actually leaves the job at the end of a shift.
No. The whole property is booked exclusively for your crew and nobody outside your booking holds a key during the stay. This is not a room in a shared HMO. Separate beds for everyone as standard — no room sharing, ever.
Yes. One invoice for the whole crew, matched to your PO number, with 30-day terms for approved accounts. No card per person, no folio to reconcile at month end, and one invoice even if you are running Peterborough alongside other sites.
This is the usual route for corporate and business accommodation bookings and the finance team can have the paperwork before the crew arrives.
Tell us as early as you can and we extend the same house for the same crew wherever availability allows — same property, same keys, no rebooking from scratch. We will not promise a specific property indefinitely, and if it is genuinely let after your dates we say so early enough for you to plan.
Yes. Phased arrivals are normal — start with four, add capacity as the programme ramps up, release properties as phases complete. If somebody rotates off and a replacement joins, we update the names and it is done in hours rather than requiring a new booking.
Yes. Serviced accommodation, serviced apartments and self-catering all describe the same thing from our side: a managed, furnished, bills-included place with someone responsible for it.
For a crew of four or more a whole house is usually better value and gives everyone their own room. For one or two people, or where a city-centre location matters more than space, a self-contained serviced apartment is often the better fit. Tell us the headcount and we will say which.
Yes, and Peterborough is usually the right base for all three. Whittlesey is fifteen minutes, Yaxley and Great Haddon thirteen, Stamford twenty. Basing a crew centrally gives you far more housing stock than any of those places offer on their own, and the commute is shorter than most crews expect.
Send the site postcode rather than the town — it changes which side of the city we look at first.
Ring 0113 479 0251. You get a named contact who knows your job, not a ticket queue, and we answer during working hours. Our Google rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 21 reviews and our Airbnb communication score is 4.9 across more than 10,000 nights — both of those exist because things occasionally go wrong and we sort them fast.
We answer calls during working hours. If you won a package on Friday and need a crew housed by Monday, ring rather than fill in the form.
